Wood Workers Camp

Description
Wood Workers Camp
Ages 6- 12
June 22-June 26
11am-3pm
Firehouse Art Center- 667 4th Ave, Longmont
Instructor: Amy Lummus

Wood Workers Camp is an immersive, hands-on making experience designed for curious, capable kids who love to build, tinker, and create with intention. Campers work with a wide range of real materials and tools — including wood, fasteners, sandpaper, hand saws, screwdrivers, measuring tools, and paint — learning how to plan, construct, revise, and finish their own original projects.

As campers demonstrate readiness, they are introduced to hand tools and basic construction techniques, with a strong emphasis on responsibility, care, and respect for tools and shared space.

Throughout the week we listen to music, get messy, and fully engage in the tactile joy of making. Projects may include sculptural builds, functional objects, signs, and imaginative constructions driven by each child’s interests. The camp concludes with a small “art show,” where campers proudly present their finished work to peers and families, celebrating both process and creativity.
