Radio Station KGNU is celebrating it's 40th Anniversary this fall with an exhibition at the Museum of Boulder and a gala event at Millenium Harvest House.
The exhibition is called Listening Together: An Exploration of 40 Years Making Community-Powered Radio and explores KGNU's historic programming, its in-depth news, eclectic music, cultural, and philosophical programs - produced and curated by heartfelt community members. Experience first-hand the pulse of community radio by interacting with recording and listening stations and engage in community conversations with interactive interviews led by nationally recognized radio hosts. View station artifacts, the evolution of broadcast radio, the art behind producing radio, and rare photos documenting four decades of community engagement. On display through September 17. The Gala Benefit on Saturday, September 15 features a three-course dinner, silent auction and keynote speakers Amy Goodman of Democracy Now! and Jim Hightower of The Hightower Lowdown. Tickets are $150 each. |
