Don't miss the Opening of this BCAA Members Exhibition as part of First Friday! Nineteen artists in a variety of mediums will have works on view and for sale. Wine and light refreshments will be served.

The term "drawing" is applied loosely. Artists were encouraged to submit works created by any kind of drafting implement. So in addition to works in traditional graphite and colored pencil, visitors will see paintings, watercolors and mixed media. The theme of Drawing a (Blank) in Boulder was deliberately open-ended, inviting artists to portray whatever is meaningful to them relating to our city. When these varied responses are brought together, we have an exhibition that includes Boulder's natural beauty, historic landmarks, and vibrant people.

After a long hiatus from organizing exhibitions, BCAA brought back a Members Show in 2018 at First Congregational Church. This year, BCAA is thrilled to partner with the Museum of Boulder and hopes to make this an annual event at rotating venues throughout Boulder County. 

This juried exhibition will be on view through January 26, 2020. 

Each December Coloradans come together with the common goal to strengthen the community by helping to power nonprofits.

This year Colorado Gives Day is Tuesday, December 10, and there is an added incentive to giving on that day or scheduling your gift to go on that day because First Bank matches a percentage of donations. In 2019, donors like you made it possible for BCAA to support artists of all disciplines. Through our grants, fiscal sponsorship and professional development programs, hundreds of Boulder County artists raised funds ($278,000 with one month to go!), and are building more sustainable arts businesses.

Julie Davis Ratner practices primarily in the fields of Estate Planning and Probate & Trust administration. From families just beginning the estate planning process to older clients and family businesses, Julie offers informed, empathetic guidance through the preservation of assets for future generations and charitable giving. Julie counsels her clients on issues such as succession plans, last wills and testaments, living trusts, irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, and living wills.

ArtHyve is a non-profit community arts archives, dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of contemporary Colorado art and artists by creating a publicly accessible, locally focused arts and culture research center. This initiative is of vital importance as Denver is one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation, subject to rapid gentrification and displacement of many long-time artists and creatives. There is not a place within the state dedicated to the active documentation, preservation, and accessibility of the materials, documents, and ephemera that document the creative output of our city and state’s rapidly changing neighborhoods.

Business of Arts Workshops are $10 BCAA Members, $15 non-members.

This is the 72nd Anniversary of the Boulder Star on Flagstaff Mountain, first lit in December 1947 and making its holiday appearance every year since.

The Boulder Chamber is the steward of this community asset. For the second year in a row, BCAA supported the Chamber by helping with the Call for Artist to design the Star Card and label for Star Wine. Through sales of these items and the generosity of other partners, keeps the Boulder Star shining bright.

Anthony began his professional career as an actor, touring the U.S. for three seasons as a performer with John Houseman's The Acting Company. An Associate Artist with the Denver Center Theatre Company for eighteen seasons, he directed over 25 productions there, including Dirty Story, Wit, The Dresser, Racing Demon, The Leeane Trilogy, Love's Labour's Lost, Hamlet, The Tempest, and Someone Who'll Watch Over Me. Most recently he directed The Moors at the Arvada Center.

He has acted and directed the The Arvada Center, Denver's Curious Theatre Company, Theatre Aspen and Creede Reperatory. He started at Stories on Stage as Artistic Director in June 2010. He received his BA from the Pacific Conservatory for the Performing Arts and his MFA from Temple University in Philadelphia.
