Presented by the Boulder JCC, in partnership with Con·nect, a series of free bi-monthly gatherings designed to amplify BIPOC artists and to strengthen relationships and partnerships among BIPOC artists and arts organizations in Boulder County. The documentary film, This Is [Not] Who We Are, explores the gap between Boulder’s self-image and the more complex lived experiences—both historical and contemporary—of its Black citizens. Following the screening we will be joined by Katrina Miller, one of the award-winning Directors of This Is [Not] Who We Are. Katrina will discuss themes from the movie and answer questions from the audience and moderator, Jasmine Sampson, Founder of Curate Boulder, a cultural arts center dedicated to empowering, celebrating, and showcasing African American artists while creating a more diverse Boulder Valley and building community.
