Boulder, CO 80302
This Event is the first of several showings of this project to take place this year at multiple venues in Boulder, as well as the premiere of Rothschild’s new solo Rust.
MAPS (making and performing a solo) for 100 Dancers is a worldwide choreography project initiated by Julie Rothschild in February 2015. MAPS is an online choreography lab space where dancers from all over the globe are gathering to have access to a solo that Julie Rothschild is making, and sharing at this event. Participating dancers have complete artistic license to use this material to create their own solos to share with their audiences.
On Sunday, Julie, along with 4 local dancers: Mary Lynn Lewark, Mary Chorba Willmeng, Jun Akiyama and Sunyu von Conrady, will share MAPS for 100 Dancers, not as a formal performance, but as a view of what each artist is making out of the materials that Julie has provided. We will be dancing in the midst of Substrate, BMoCA's current exhibit, as well as in the museum’s Event Space.
