Two artists journey back to a time when the world was mud, fire, water and air; and the sky above was a mystery bejeweled by the stars. National-award winning nature photographer Bob Maynard has spent years capturing the night skies above southwest desert. Cherylene Caver’s hands are deep in the clay— creating replication Plains and Colorado Plateau Anasazi pottery. Authentic processes, clay harvested from the area, use of stone tools, paints from local plants, and an open fire kiln fueled by wood and chips—all these elements are integral to Caver’s pottery.
Opening reception with the artists on Friday, May 12 from 6-9 PM with a 7 PM artist talk. Music will be provided by Earl Correy on Indian wood flute.
