Featuring new work from Dave Rowe, Amber St. Lucia and Fu Wenjun.

Join us for the opening reception of three new exhibitions from artists across the globe. This is your opportunity to meet and mingle with the artists and curator. At 6pm, hear directly from the artists about their process and inspirations. Light fare for attendees, plus drinks available for purchase. All receptions are free and open to the public. Explore far-reaching perspectives on our collective history through sculpture, painting and photography. By utilizing techniques that exist between realism and abstract expression, these artists invite the viewer to ponder the world from a new point of view.

About the art:

Exhibiting in the McMahon Gallery is Las Vegas based artist Dave Rowe, who channels his fascination with decay into wall sculptures made of 2x4’s and cardboard. His work is focused on documenting social, political and environmental change on the American landscape.

The Hand-Rudy Gallery and the MacMillan Family Lobby hosts an unusual display of works called “Digital Pictorial Photography,” a term coined by Chinese artist Fu Wenjun to describe his process of harmonizing ancient Chinese art and Western oil painting.

In the Polly Addison Gallery, Paris based artist, Amber St. Lucia exhibits a sensitive set of paintings that subtly examine femininity and masculinity. By fixating on her subjects, St. Lucia digs her way into their life and embraces their views.

Indigenize Your Eyes (On display outside of the Dairy)

In celebration of Indigenous Peoples Day in Boulder, the Dairy Arts Center is proud to host the Indigenize Your Eyes project on the outside of the building, featuring photography by local Native American students to showcase the diversity and vibrancy of the American Indian community in Boulder County. The photos will be displayed in a series of installations throughout Boulder during the month of October, including at the Dairy Arts Center.
