Using Water-Based Oil paints, the class is designed to introduce new art students to the paints and painting techniques. For intermediate and advanced students, the class is designed to provide critiques and instruction on how to polish your personal style including composition, color theory and brush techniques.
The first half hour of class is devoted to discussing a new painting technique and critiquing work finished at home.The remainder of the time is used to work on paintings or begin a new painting. The class structure is individual instruction in a group setting.
If you have ever wanted to take a painting class and have been concerned about not being skilled enough, this is the class for you. If you are an intermediate or advanced student and want help polishing your style, this is the class for you.

Classes for Beginner Painters:
I teach a special four week class that will introduce you to how to use the paint and the brushes. By the end of the first four weeks, you will be able to manipulate the paint on the canvas board with both brushes and pallet knife, then you are ready to create the paintings you want.
Class #1 - Learn how to use the paint and the paint brushes. You get to test drive painting for the first time.
Class #2 - Learn how to paint like the Impressionists and get use to using the brushes. You get to test drive painting this way.
Class #3 - Learn how to paint with a pallet knife. You get to test drive painting this way.
Class #4 - Learn more details on how to handle the paint and we will talk about how to finish a painting. You get to test drive painting in your own style.
Then after these four classes, we can start talking about the paintings you want to paint and you can continue classes with me . There are more classes I teach, and I design them to your interest.
The next classes are:
Class #5 - Color Theory - We will look at how the colors fit together.
Class #6 - Composition - We will look at how to set up a painting's composition.
Class #7 - Perspective - We will look at what perspective is and how artists use it.
Class #8 - Golden Mean - We will continue our understanding of composition.
