From Africa to the Americas is a performance and dance party bringing together the finest musicians and dancers to honor the African roots of Brazilian,  Cuban and Latin American traditions.  The public will enjoy an amazing night of narration, drumming, song, and vibrant dance performances followed by open dancing for everyone to the music of Los Chicos Malos.   Invited artists include: Rosangela Silvestre (Brazil), Adjei Abankwah (Ghana) and Makomba Ensemble, Ranses and Zohra (Cuba), Norma Johnson (USA), Nii Armah Sowa , Yesutor Kotoka,(Ghana),  Carl Dixon (USA), Jamal Rima (Colombia), Daniel Lopez (Mexico) and Alirio Da Silva (Brazil).

Africa to the Americas is co-produced by Carmen Reina-Nelson and Maria Soledad Diaz, with assistance from EcoArts Connections, Felicia Furman, Marda Kirn, and Thomas Windham.
