Inspired by the people of his hometown of Mérida, Venezuela, artist Marco Antonio García Noguera captures the expressions of a variety of cultures, races, and social classes in this exhibition of contemporary portraiture.
Marco Antonio was born in 1992 in Mérida, Venezuela. He began drawing as soon as he could grab a crayon. His interest in art grew from caricatures and sketches to charcoal drawings and blossomed into oil pastels, portraiture, and painting as a young adolescent. He has studied art in Mérida and in Boulder, Colorado where he has focused on oil, acrylic, and watercolor paitning and drawing through both workshops and private courses. His work can be categorized into different genres, which include portraiture, indigenous portraiture, religious motifs, and the natural world. Most recently he has begun working on sculptures. Many of Marco's pieces are part of private collections in the U.S. and South America. He currently lives in Mérida, Venezuela.
