Business of Arts: Tax Prep for Artists

Registration is closed for this event
Tax season is here! And artists have their own unique set of tax questions. Get yours answered at this session. We will review the different taxes artists may be responsible for, explain what is and isn't tax-deductible, and offer record-keeping tips. In addition, learn about significant changes with the new tax law, particularly related to business owners and self-employed individuals, which of course, many artists are. If you have received a grant, work as a teaching artist, or were paid for artistic work in 2018, then this workshop is for you. Open to artists of all disciplines at all career stages.

We are pleased to welcome back Toby Gallegos of Block Advisors as our presenter. Toby provides tax preparation and other business services to individuals and small businesses with complex tax situations and diverse business needs for Block Advisors in Boulder. He specializes in serving the needs of small business owners, self-employed professionals, nonprofits, and performing artists. Toby is also a member of the Boulder Guitar Society and on the Board of A Child's Song in Thornton.
