This is a unique workshop, presentation, and poetry reading on the native experiences told by Poet Laureate of Lafayette and Maya Chief ZBassSpeaks.

Learn and reflect upon the struggles of the First Nation and celebrate the resiliency of culture and how it pushes the movements for Indigenous rights. Write a guided poem from your heart on what you wish to say to yourself and to your human relatives. 

When: Monday, April 22nd (11:30 AM -1:00 PM)

Where: The Collective (201 N Public Rd, Lafayette)

Meet the Presenter

Z, the poet with the copper voice is a multi award winning twin spirited indigenous spoken word artist. Z became the first Poet Laureate of Lafayette as of April 2022. The Colorado born poet has been speaking/performing in the Denver Metro area since 2008. With the mission to speak on social issues and to promote unity, literacy, and creativity through poetry. By using traditional forms and radical fusions of art and poetry.
