I am the creator of The Pavlova Project, which had its triumphant inaugural exhibit at The Dairy Arts Center from December 6, 2019 through January 12, 2020.  If you missed it, or if you saw it and want to see it again, please stop by my house during Boulder Arts Week.  Check the Boulder Arts Week website for days, times, and location.

What is the Pavlova Project?  I have recreated in one-quarter scale over 85 of the ballet costumes and couture that the famous ballerina Anna Pavlova (1881-1931) wore throughout her career as an international ballet celebrity. I carefully research each costume using primary source material, then sew the outfit in miniature using fabrics, embellishments, and techniques appropriate to the era. The costumes are displayed on 16" mannequins, and include her dance partners, teachers, choreographers, and other important people in her life, all dressed true to her times. I call this a "Visual Biography", because through this collection, visitors can learn about Pavlova's life--from her childhood in the 1880's to her final performance in 1930.  Walk through the exhibit, view the costumes, see archival photos of Pavlova wearing each costume, and read the historical notes I have compiled. I guarantee that you will be as fascinated by this bold, brave, entrepreneurial woman as I am!
