Call for Artists

This juried, group exhibition is open to all individual members of Boulder County Arts Alliance. Join or renew here.

Applications are through this online form only. There is a $20 application fee.

Please include an artist statement and a brief bio. Attach up to three digital images (300 dpi) for review of the actual piece(s) you would enter into the exhibition. This is a drawing show and the subject matter should relate to Boulder. If the work selected is no longer available by December 6 (i.e. it sells), then the jury will allow the artist to submit a substitution for approval.

Exhibiting artists will be chosen based on examples of their work. Jury members:

Timeline

  • August 2 - Call for Artists opens
  • September 13 at 5pm - Deadline for submissions to BCAA
  • October 18 - Notifications sent. BCAA will send a copy of the Exhibit Agreement to exhibiting artists.
  • November 15 – Signed agreements due
  • December 3, 10am -4pm – Delivery of artwork – no exceptions
  • December 4-5 – Exhibition Installation
  • December 6, 5-7pm – Exhibition Opening, part of First Friday
  • January 26 – Exhibition Closes
  • January 28, 9am-noon – Pick up Artwork – no exceptions

Artwork Requirements

  • Artwork must have been created no earlier than 2016. We want recent work!
  • Artwork size is restricted to 36” x 36” (including frame) and weighing no more than 40 lbs.
  • Artwork must be ready to hang with wire.
  • Very limited space is available for three-dimensional works and is subject to approval by the Museum of Boulder.
  • Artwork must be self-insured. Neither Museum of Boulder nor BCAA offers insurance.
  • BCAA staff will install the exhibition at their discretion.
  • Artwork can be available for sale. Neither the Museum of Boulder nor BCAA will receive a commission on work sold. The artist will retain 100% of sale price. For this purpose, affix a business card to the reverse of your work, so that the Museum staff can find your information and allow the buyer to contact you directly.
