Originally purchased by Boy Scout troops and donated to Celebrate the Boy Scouts of America's 40th anniversary in 1950. Approx. 200 replicas of the statue were manufactured by Friedley-Voshardt Co. in Chicago, Il and purchased through the Kansas City Boy Scout office at a cost of $350 plus freight. Many have been lost or destroyed but preservationists have been able to account for about 100 of them. Roosevelt Park.
