Three paintings by Luis Eades hang in the Chemistry Building at the University of Colorado' Boulder. Each work measures 12 inches by 12 inches. The titles are "Divide," "As of Now," and "Oasis." "Divide" contrasts the imagery of the serene landscape of a mountain with imagery of a violence and war. "As of Now" depicts and juxtaposes patterns in nature, such as a fossils, boulders, and decaying saguaro cactus. "Oasis" contrasts a typical, dry and eroded western landscape that lacks vegetation with a meter cover, an urban source of piped water that makes suburban green lawns possible. 1984.
