Artist's statement: The story of Adam and Eve has always been something fascinating to me. I enjoy the sense of God, the garden, and the dramatic fall from grace; the simple truth of life with innocence, with love, with sin. I am intrigued by the epic literary quality of the bible and it's use as a device in art history. I relied on a painting by Peter Paul Rubens for the source of my composition. Ruben's work relied on a painting of Titian. I found this process very interesting as a way of connecting the present with the past. 1994.
