SEEKING PRODUCER/PRODUCTION MANAGER FOR VIVA THEATER

THIS IS A PAID POSITION

VIVA THEATER will be performing a radio play version of Harvey (the invisible rabbit) at the Dairy Arts Center in Boulder – the last weekend in November/first weekend in December 2022.

We are seeking a person to oversee the production starting in August 2022.This is a contract position with a set payment which covers August through the end of the performance.  This is not an hourly position – some tasks could take minutes, others could stretch over days.  Many things can be done remotely, some in person. Since we will be holding auditions right after Labor Day, the producer will need to be prepared to assist with that.

Not all the tasks need to be personally done by the producer but that person would need to find the appropriate people to do production tasks and make sure they are done in a timely manner. The producer would work with the director and Viva Board of Directors to determine the specific needs. Some tasks will be done by volunteers, other positions are paid.

Tasks a producer might need to do include:

*find audition and rehearsal space

*work with the Board and director on the budget

*find people to do these things and create a timetable for:

            publicity – social media, print and radio media

            graphic art for publicity, media, the program; photography

            designing the program, seeing to printing

            stage managing

            recruiting and coordinating ushers

*other needs as they arise – working with the director and production crew
