Seicento Baroque Ensemble Board Member Focused on Volunteers

Seicento Music Ensemble is seeking a Board of Directors member who will be responsible for marketing.  As a director, your role is to work to ensure that Seicento's purpose of sharing Baroque music with the wider community is being served, and that ethical standards are being upheld. Board members are expected to spend approximately three to five hours per week on Seicento work. This will vary throughout the year, depending on the programming season and your leadership of the Marketing Committee and the required marketing activities. The Seicento Board meets six to nine times per year.

Seicento Board Directors have three fundamental duties:

• Acting in good faith consistent with what the board or an individual board member truly believes is in the best interest of Seicento;
• Doing what is in the best interest of Seicento; and
• Honoring and acting consistently with the requirements of applicable laws; and the organization’s mission, bylaws, policies and other standards of appropriate behavior.

The Board Member focused on Volunteer Network shall oversee and direct all outreach and communications to build and maintain a volunteer network that can support Seicento artistic programs and initiatives.  They will coordinate volunteer acquisition, engagement, and retention.  The donor relations strategies and tactics the Board Member responsible for Donor Relations will undertake include, but are not limited to: 

• Working closely with Seicento’s Artistic Director to identify volunteer network roles required at front of house for Seicento performances,
• Developing volunteer strategy, including identifying potential volunteer roles,
• Building volunteer network including acquiring, engaging and retaining volunteers,
• Recruiting students from partner high schools to usher at concerts in exchange for community service hours.
