Printer-friendly version
Description

What's your story?  Join us for a generative writing workshop at the Dairy Arts Center. Learn how to transform your personal experiences into narratives with universal themes. Using interactive discussions, writing exercises, and assigned readings, we will explore the nuances of truth and memory, techniques for developing a compelling first-person narrator, the balance between showing and telling, and strategies for uncovering the deeper significance within your own life experiences. All group discussions promote the goal of building a community of writers offering support, feedback, and encouragement in a safe space for sharing your work. Sessions will be customized to meet the specific needs and interests of the group.

Open to all adults anywhere in their writing journey. Class is limited to 12 participants. $280

Instructor: Brenda Kahn
Brenda Kahn is a Boulder-based artist, celebrated for her poignant, lyric-driven music that blends personal narratives with broader social commentaries. She authored “Ode to Chores,” a humorous take on motherhood in verse. Kahn’s memoir, set to explore the transformative power of music and writing against the backdrop of the East Village music scene in the ’90s, is forthcoming.
