Producing Reality Television Masterclass

The Boulder County Film Commission presents Reality Check: A Producer's Crash Course in Reality TV Production, where you'll learn the ins and outs from Tim McOsker, the former producer of "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives". During this four-hour class taught by a reality producer with over 20 years in the genre, Tim will offer tactical and concrete ways to look at the current and emerging markets for reality programming, and will dissect the ever-changing skills needed to produce both out-in-the-field as well as in the editing bay.

Tim will also discuss the raw tools needed to survive and thrive throughout the show-making process, from development to pre-production, in-field production, and through the post-production experience. In this class, you'll better understand the most important role of a producer, that of storyteller, crafting compelling narratives from the unpredictable tapestry of real-life events and personalities.

This class is ideal for participants who currently work as associate producers, editors, coordinators, camera department personnel, line producers, and others who want to grow into the producer role. In addition, this class is a great fit if you've gone through a media studies program, perhaps with a focus on production, editing, or writing, and are looking to move into another field, as well as professionals in other fields of content.

The class takes place on Saturday June 15 from 1pm to 5pm at Citizen Pictures, the production company that produces, among many other programs, "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives".
