Robin Damore: Painting the figure from a live model-LAA Workshop

Printer-friendly version
Description

Join nationally known portrait artist Robin Damore as she teaches the fundamentals of painting the portrait from life. Robin is a signature member of the Portrait Society of America and her painting of Nichelle Nichols is now in the collection of the Smithsonian. Robin teaches regularly from her studio and rarely at other venues, so this is a wonderful opportunity for anyone interested in portrait or figure painting.

In this Louisville Art Association workshop, students will paint a figure from life over the course of four days, and discuss choices for composition, color harmony, lighting, pacing, and bringing the painting to a solid level of resolve. Robin’s expertise in capturing a likeness will be revealed using her methods which are easy to understand and execute.   As students paint, Robin will critique and assist on an individual basis to help each student complete the workshop as a better portrait painter.

Beginners are welcome!

This 4-day workshop is $580 for LAA members and $600 for non-members and will take place at the Boulder School of Fine Art in Boulder. Model fees are included and easels are supplied.
