Embark on a captivating artistic journey as you delve into the intricate craft of sculpting a seated full figure using slabs in this immersive class. During this workshop, participants will create a 25’’ tall figure using clay slabs, simple patterns, and photographic references (all provided). We will explore the construction and detailing of various body parts including the feet, legs, hips, torso, arms, hands, head, and neck on a basic armature. Through discussions on general anatomical principles and sculpting techniques, we will refine the accuracy and expressiveness of our sculptures.
While previous experience in figurative sculpture is beneficial, we encourage all enthusiastic learners with a passion for hand-building to apply.
Class Schedule: 4 days (4 h./ Total 16 hours) + Extra hours of studio time.
